the Vikings used as a mount. The dun
color, dorsal stripe and leg markings are the prominent identifying
traits of this breed. Today this breed is used for riding, light
draft work, agriculture and as a pack pony in remote regions. The
strong pony stands 13 to 14.2 hands high at the withers.
The North Light model depicts the proper breed characteristics of
a smaller head and ears, short thick neck, full deep chest and stocky
short legs. The traditional Yellow Dun color is most common, but
this model also comes in Silver Dun and Mouse Dun, all with corresponding
dark dorsal stripe and leg markings. These two additional dun color-ways
are allowed by the breed's standard. The mane on this model is shown
clipped in the traditional manner to stand up and display the dark
central stripe and the legs display the dark barring associated
with the Fjord.
This is an elegant and highly detailed model, true to the ancient
Fjord breed standard.
